4.27.02 8:35 PM (Saturday)  One more week til AP tests!
I haven't done any studying yet though.

Let me recap as usual... Wednesday I was supposed to go to Key Club, but at the beginning of the meeting I got this message that all Student of the Month kids should go to the band room O_O So I went. It took the entire lunch period, it was kinda corny, and now my picture will be up near the main office. Just great. I think I will go vandalize it... and in Calc, instead of studying for the mock, we did this exploration for the entire period to learn that if g(x) is the inverse of f(x), g'(x) = 1/(f'(x)). o_O

Thursday... 2-4-6. Statistics we got work time, everyone was like "YES!" I worked on my Assessment. EMT Lynn and I finished our EMT collage. Lunch... what did I do... went to counseling office to request transcript for UW summer, then was supposed to go to NHS committee meeting but no one was there, so I went to the DDR room instead. And 6th period... we worked on MC the whole period.

Friday was a little stressful. I didn't study for the Calc Mock Thurs. night because I had to finish Study Q's, so I used 1st (worksheet, Iron Chef) and 3rd (mock mult. choice not counting towards our grade) to study. Lunch I went to the library with Ada and Andrea and, in the midst of studying next to the magazine sections, became distracted by the copy of "Rolling Stone" I saw so I reached for it and I started reading. And then pretty soon lunch was over and I didn't get much done. The Calc mock was TOUGH. My AP study guide didn't have any questions like that... anyways, I hope for at least a 50%, but maybe that's pushing it.

Today! Alex G. suggested we go to FFC but I hadn't talked to him, so I tracked him down at work and asked him, but he said his shift would run til 6. I told Pablo, Eugene to meet us there at 5-5:30. Pretty soon Eugene said he couldn't go because of family business, so it was just me and Pablo. It was actually pretty fun. I always manage to have fun at FFC... at any rate, we'll have another arcade party thing after AP tests, probably at Illusionz.
4.23.02 11:58 PM (Tuesday)  Kiwanis meeting
I completely forgot there was a Kiwanis meeting today. Lily reminded me after 2nd. So at the beginning of lunch we went to Trimble's--me, Lily, and Eugene--and then went to the Kiwanis meeting downtown. It was a nice meeting... involved businesspeople, it's great to know our Key Club has such great resources. The lunch was especially good O_O Stir fry and a pink sherbet thing. While we were a little underdressed, it was a great experience. We got to talk about convention and everything. Can't wait to do it again...
  4.22.02 11:46 PM (Monday)  And we're done...
All done with US History! And we're kinda done with Calculus. Mr. Gaither was like "And that's it... that's everything!" (and then realizing we were doing stuff after the AP test) said "I mean that's it for the AP test."

It was funny during Calculus Brian had a strange Chinese snack food, "Cheese Rings," that tasted like cereal just coated with cheese. We didn't really like it so we passed it around class, and by the time it came back no one had really taken any o_O Oddly I had brought Cheetohs Cheese Puffs from my lunchtime AM/PM trip with Kim, which tasted a lot better...

On another note, WASL's all throughout this week and next week 'til Wednesday; we have 1/3/5 and 2/4/6 alternating each day.
4.21.02 9:03 PM (Sunday)  The week after the last longest break of the school year
The week was actually pretty normal. It was a little stressful, with two sets of Study Q's originally due Tues., then moved up to Wednesday, then to Friday, but other than that, the week sailed by smoothly.

Highlights of my week include a Japanese visit from some Japanese American society and we had to roleplay visiting a teacher's house. That was Wednesday. Also, I actually went somewhere that wasn't a required meeting for the first time ever during STARS o_O I went to the library on Thursday, and I saw Amy there, so we started to talk and Belinda came and we didn't get any work done at all. Also, Lynn and I (okay, so it was mostly my work) finished our "things that begin with C" collage for EMT. Fun fun fun.

There were a few meetings during lunch this past week as well. Monday was a Key Club Officers meeting, Tuesday NHS, Wednesday Key Club.

Sadly, although I look forward to them during the week, I've been dreading weekends lately. I seem to waste my weekends whenever they arrive, doing nothing really productive. Oh well.
4.13.02 9:00 PM (Saturday)  Day 3... my unofficial last day of break
The March of Dimes... was today. No one from my Key Club came! Such a shame. I woke up super early, around 7, and I thought I was late. Luckily, it was actually early...

So I woke up my sister and were dropped off near Safeco Field. My mom is horrible at driving, she drove really really slowly through a red light because she was confused at the signs o_O Anyways, so we got there, and it started to pour, really badly. Luckily I brought an umbrella. Registration took a long time, luckily they were serving food, pancakes, and it was a good but small breakfast. So after a while Justin came and registered everyone from Key Club Division 26 (I was the only one from GHS o_O, WHERE WERE YOU GUYS?!?!?!?) and then we went inside the stadium to hear a short opening speech. Then the walk began!

Actually the walk wasn't that interesting. There were several points along the way where vendors gave out water and other free goodies like fruit snacks, hats, stickers, and Band-Aid holders, but it was pretty boring. About 1 mile into the walk we encountered a scary British bum who yelled at everyone for tresspassing on his territory. Yeah, uh huh.

So after the walk ended we wound back up in Safeco Field. And we saw lots of people with KIRO-7 bags (the only local channel whose newscasts I do NOT watch...) so we wanted to see what's up. They were giving away lots of free things. My sister and I got a few bags and got in line. We continued to fill up the bags with anything cool we saw. Like, lots of bottled water, some cans of pop, some V-8 Splash cartons, some candy, vitamins, etc. etc. And I had three whole bags worth!

After the hoarding bonanza I got a ride home with one of my sister's friends. At home, I took a nap. And then Eric came to pick me up so we could go to Chinatown.

Chinatown was actually pretty fun, and I haven't hung out with Eric in a long time. The first stop, Uwajimaya! We spent a long time watching music videos (the PV for Hikki's "Hikari" is pretty crappy... err... I mean interesting) and I bought DAI's album "Do the Best." So we leave Uwaji to get something to eat and we go to Bangkok House... which is a really good place for Thai food. Eric and I decided to split a Beef Phad Thai, which came with a free Thai Iced Tea, and the waitress brought out one Iced Tea with two straws and Eric and I were laughing for the longest time. On the up side, the Phad Thai was really good, and they even gave us two plates... lol.

As we were walking back to Uwaji, we saw this intense brawl between a white guy and an Asian guy, both middle age or therabouts. It was intense... the white guy was beating up the Asian guy pretty badly, and Eric and I were both curious as to why it was happening. So we followed them inside Uwajimaya, where the white guy had the Asian guy in an armlock, and some employees took them to a back room for something. We both wanted to know what was up with that, but I didn't really want to ask any of the employees...

So after that we went to my house so I could help Eric on PreCalc stuff. Well uhh.. unfortunately, I didn't remember any of it, so I wasn't too much of a help. And then Eric left.

All in all, my Spring Break has proved fruitful, now I will have to spread this productivity to the area of academics... I still haven't started any homework...
4.12.02 10:14 PM (Friday)  Day 2 of fun things!
Today I went to Family Fun Center with Alex G. and Graham. Other people were supposed to come, but no one else showed up... anyways. So Alex picked me up, then Graham, and we headed to FFC which is near Southcenter Mall. Alex accidentally drank too much because he thought it would hydrate him but on the way there he had to go to the bathroom really badly...

So while at FFC we mainly played DDR 5th Mix. Having never played a 5th Mix machine before, it was a new one for me. It was pretty fun... and we got Graham to play for the first time!

After all the DDR-ing, we went to the photo booth to take some pictures. It was expensive... $2 for only TWO pictures! Can you say, "rip off?" We took pictures anyways. To alleviate the situation, I took a picture using my camera inside the photo booth.

And after that we went to the Baskin Robbins by my house. Ice cream had never tasted so better...

And that's pretty much my day.
  4.11.02 8:07 PM (Thursday)  Southcenter
It was raining today. Which was too bad, the weather hasn't really been good the past few days.

Today I went out for the first time since Convention, and hung out with Khaliun. I wanted to go to Bellevue to get some sushi but she needed to go somewhere with an American Eagle... so we went to Southcenter. We went around the mall, ate, and she shopped for things, but I didn't really need to go shopping, so technically I just hung out at the mall. I pondered whether I should've gone to movie night at Armand's, but I decided that, having no homework done, I should stay home.
4.11.02 2:23 AM (Thursday)  Some random things
Man, break since convention has been roughly... uneventful. Here are some things I've noticed.

I like the Gospellers better than Chemistry. Both groups can sing really well, but Chemistry's album is filled with lots of generic R&B... I'm actually basing this judgement on the "LoveNotes" CD Jeffo (actually, Eric) burned for me. It's a really good CD, and "hitori" is a really good song.

I was recently published in the "Who's Who in American High Schools" book thing. Among one of my interests was "Arcade Team." Being unofficial, there is no way they could've checked up on that... so if I get nominated again I'll put more creative things for my junior year ^_^

Terranigma is a good game, a lot like the Seiken Densetsu series, good music, good graphics. It's missing something a Square game would have though... unfortunately I can't pinpoint what exactly it is.

AP tests are soon. I have to study way more for Biology. And... that's it for now. I've got things lined up for the rest of the week except Sunday, so I won't be so bored. Hopefully all goes well!
4.7.02 11:08 AM (Sunday)  Mog's first Key Club Convention Adventure
Daylight Savings time is really screwing me over. I'm so tired...

Friday was a busy day. Thursday night I was really tired because I had an eye appointment, followed by finishing editing my term paper, to studying for Stats and Calc. I slept around 2 and couldn't study for Calc.

Friday was interesting. In Japanese we had chicken curry which was pretty good. Stats finished our test. AP US video. EMT Lynn and I did nothing, but we had to take down some maps hanging in that one classroom across from Ms. Jenni's, which was kinda hard. Lunch was really stressful--I had to secure a ride from someone to Key Club Convention. No one was really willing to give me a ride to Sea-tac... luckily before lunch ended I secured a ride with Ms. Trimble, as a last resort. Finally lunch ended. After a really hard multiple choice test in Calc that was only 17 questions but still no one finished, and a practically free day in LA, I headed back up to Trimble's so we could go to Convention. Lily and Christina were there too.

I went to Ezell's since I couldn't go anywhere for lunch to at least eat something before we left... then we all stopped by my house to pick up my stuff and drop off my school things. We got to the Double Tree Inn at Sea-tac and were greeted by peppy Key Club Lt. Governers. I was thinking, "great." We got our room assignments and headed up to our rooms...

Christina, Jimmeka, Lily, and Melissa all shared a room. However, I shared a room with three other guys from different schools: Noah, Andrew, and Ty. I remember first going into my room and it was really awkward becuse Noah and Andrew had known each other and I just sat there kinda wondering what to do. Then Ty came in and broke the ice between everyone.

I wasn't really feeling the entire Key Club aspect of the trip. We had a opening procesion that night, followed by caucuses and both were somewhat long and dragging. After all that we had a crappy snack of pretzels, yogurt, and bananas. That night my room didn't get much sleep at all... next door some people were doing it and all we heard was "unh... unh... unh... oh god..." It was funny but annoying. I woke up a few times because of all the moaning.

Saturday was the only full day of Key Club things. The first thing I did was go to my treasurer's workshop, and then to brunch, then to a public relations forum, to a positive mental attitude forum, finally to stress management. The forums could've been more useful if they were just a little longer. After all that we had a break until our dinner (yeah the dinner was at 4.)

After the dinner we had another break until the awards ceremony/closing procession. The thing was long. Luckily we found out Melissa won for District Treasurer, but still the thing was long. Oh yeah, one of the lieutenant governers was this Asian girl that talked EXACTLY like Timmy from the hit NBC soap Passions! It was cute.

What else... we had an hour break after that until the Governer's Ball. The Ball was okay, except I didn't really know anyone else there and ended up dancing with Melissa most of the time. Not that she's bad company but it would've been cooler if lots more people from our school went. They played "Stomp to my Beat" which was pretty cool.

I left early and went to bed early. When I woke up Melissa and Jimmika had already left, so I ended up getting a ride with Ms. Trimble home. Now for the rest of spring break!
4.4.02 3:49 PM (Thursday)  I believe in miracles, baby... I believe
Day two of Holocaust assemblies! Our Stats test was shortened because of it, but we get to finish tomorrow. This time we had a woman guest speak, she was funny and open but she got on the most random tangents about love and tolerance. And then during question time people asked her questions and she didn't really answer them, but instead used them to talk about peace and love. It was great. I wanted to hug her, but I had to get to 4th period...

EMT was so boring! Lynn and I decided our Photoshop collage's theme would be "things that start with C." Cats. Corn. Celine Dion. California Dreams. Croatia. Timmy, the midget from Passions (okay so he doesn't start with a C, hopefully no one will notice.)

Lunch I finally went to a teacher DDR-tourney... I told Alex and Jeffo to come because I didn't know who else would be there. While we were setting up, the PSX fell off the stand and the motor broke. Disappointed, Andy ushered everyone out saying it was off, but luckily I was there! First I banged the PSX hard and the motor started working again. The external mod broke, but I knew the swap trick so I swapped away. And voila. It was really funny seeing the LA teachers battle... Lovre and Strentz, Taylor and Wilkinson... then after they left the students got turns on it. Kim and Ada, Ada and Jeffo..

We went outside for LA, the weather was really nice.
4.3.02 6:16 PM (Wednesday)  Just two more days
For lunch yesterday I went to Toshi's on Rainier. The food is at least 10x better than Yasuko's, but it's still mediocre in terms of teriyaki places. The best teriyaki places are all Korean-owned...

Today we had an assembly on the Holocaust. It was okay, a little on the boring side, but I was respectful. There were some black girls sitting behind me that were not, however. They kept talking throughout the entire thing and it got so annoying.

In AP US, we finished US foreign policy completely! Now we just have to do US domestic policy from 1945-2000 and we'll be all done.

During lunch I went to Key Club. Convention is this weekend, I think I'm excited...

Calc we had a sub and all I did was talk to Simon and Brian about important things, like Saved by the Bell and California Dreams.
4.2.02 2:46 AM (Tuesday)  Just one more week
I dwell on the past too much. I can't help it...

Today (technicially yesterday) we finally performed our skit in Japanese! We did a funny ESP thing in Statistics. In history we got our 20's/30's scantrons back and I was surprised I did decently, a 62%. I got the last 10 or so completely wrong though.

Lunch was particularly exciting. As an April Fool's joke someone comepletely greased the halls with oil of some sort, which created a problem. I went to Yasuko's with Aaron, Gabino, and Ulysses (the first time I've been out in a while) and got some food... the food was SO NASTY! And overpriced! And as I was running back to the car some teriyaki sauce spilled on my pants which really sucked. The place was completely overrun by sophomores with their dollar rice. There are so many better teriyaki places around GHS too... anyways, when we went back to school I was scolded for walking in the hallway with the oil because they were cleaning it up. But I had to go wash my pants in the bathroom.

What else... I'm completely behind in math... during Calc I almost finished the HW on inverse trig functions but I was so lost. Oh yeah, during LA we got our term papers back, I was kinda surprised and kinda happy I got an A the first time around! Yay.
